September Newsletter 2017

September 11, 2017
  • Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Pre-School. We hope you had a wonderful
summer holidays and the children are ready for lots of fun. We
are welcoming lots of new children to Pre-School, Grace, Elise,
Joy, Judhah, Benji and Alex. We will be welcoming other
    children during the half term.

Many thanks for all those of that have volunteered to become
committee members and fill those vital roles. If you are still
interested in becoming a member of the committee please see
    Caroline Naidoo (Dhruv’s mummy).

    New Website
Our new website is now up and running and is going to be the
best way to keep up to date of all things Pre –School. Up and
coming dates will be on the calendar, newsletters and much
more so don’t forget to log on. There is a direct link to
Facebook which is also another good way to keep informed.

    Play and learn sessions
Don’t forget that all parents and carers are always welcome
to join us for play and learn sessions. You can come along to
any session, share you skills with the children, plan an activity or
just join in the fun. Siblings are always welcome. These sessions
are a great way to see what your child gets up to here at PreSchool.
Just let a staff member know when you would like to
    come.

Please note anyone coming to Pre-School even for a few
minutes will need to sign the visitors books, and leave their
phone in the office, this now includes any smart watches.

    Packed lunches
For those of you new to packed lunches please ensure
your child has a healthy packed lunch. The children eat
fruit up to twice a day here at Pre-School we therefore
suggest not to pack fruit for your child. Children are also
welcome to drink water with their lunch which is freely
available from the water fountain. Can we remind parents
not to pack chocolate products, sweets and nuts in
    children’s packed lunches.

    Up and coming at Pre-School
We are going to be very busy over the next few weeks,
Discovering and looking at the Owl Babies story. We will be
out and about in the community and the woods with our
first rising five Forest School session on Wednesday 13th
September. Once the weather starts to get a little less
warm can we ask that children come prepared for the
outdoors, a good waterproof coat and wellies are
essential. Please don’t forget some indoor shoes such as
slippers, crocs etc. so that the children don’t trail mud
    through Pre-School.

    New Procedures
We will all be getting used to our new procedures here at
Pre-School due to our extended opening hours. We realise
that not everyone can get to Pre-School for 9 am in the
morning so that is why we have introduced our rolling start
where the door will remain open until 9:15 am, however in
order to ensure the safety of all our children we will lock the
internal door to the main room after the majority of the
children have arrived. The gate to Pre-School and
cloakroom door will remain open until 9:20 am to access
entry to the Pre-School there will be bell on the door for
you to ring. Please be patient whilst a staff member lets
    you in.
